The Swab First™ team has over 65 years’ experience in the fields of risk assessment, public and environmental health, toxicology, and occupational hygiene. The team is led by Dr Len Turczynowicz who has over 30 years’ experience in human health risk assessment. Len has worked in government, academia and in multinational consulting companies. Len is active in research and teaching in the higher education sector. Len brings a wealth of experience to our leadership team with degrees and training in public health toxicology, chemistry, occupational hygiene, public health and exposure science. Len has developed national criteria for soil and air contaminants and contributed to national regulatory frameworks for chemical contaminants that impact public health. Prior to joining Swab First Pty Ltd, Len was the technical lead for the human health risk assessment of the new Royal Adelaide Hospital site. Len is one of the rostered experts who fulfil the role of the Technical Advice Coordinator that provides 24/7 advisory technical services to emergency first responders on matters associated with hazardous substances.
